FNQ Voip began in 2017 when director, Colin Lawrence, made the choice to finally go out on his own after nearly 50 years as a Telecommunications Technician.
Colin was humbled by the number of clients who chose to follow him on his new solo venture and quickly developed a strong reputation due to the following core values that emanate through everything at FNQ Voip.
FNQ Voip is a truly local business located in Cairns and servicing all across FNQ from Innisfail to the Gulf Savannah and everything in between.
Colin Lawrence
Colin Lawrence was born in Newcastle, NSW but has called Cairns home for more than 36 years.
A family man, he lives here in Cairns with his wife of 34 years and has two grown adult children.
After completing high school, Colin became a Telecommunications Technician and loved it so much that 50 years later, he is still doing it!
He has been involved with a number of projects over the years including an extremely complex one where he was in charge of installing a microwave radio system from Coen to Weipa and Thursday Island. The project involved a lot of resources and a number of challenges but was delivered on time and within budget. The project provided automatic telephone services to remote communities all over Cape York. Colin is especially proud of his work with remote parts of FNQ.
When he's not providing affordable phone and internet solutions to FNQ businesses, Colin can be found riding his motorcycle around local areas, enjoying a movie at the local cinema or travelling both within Australia and internationally.
His favourite parts of living in Cairns are the friendly people, warm weather and ease of getting around.
