On-Premise PBX Phone Systems

More control for small to medium sized businesses across FNQ

What is On-Premise PBX?

On-premise PBX (Private Branch Exchange) is a phone system where everything that is needed to run the phone system, is kept in a secure place within your office. The system still uses Voip technology just like a hosted PBX [LINK to hosted PBX Page] but you are in complete control of the system.

What is VoIP?

VoIP or Voice over Internet Protocol is a tech way of saying voice calls made over an internet connection rather than a traditional phone line. It’s the technology that your hosted PBX phone system is powered by and all phone lines now use VoIP.

Benefits of an On-Premise PBX Phone System

Lower costs over time

On-premise PBX phone systems may incur a little more in the initial setup costs than hosted PBX systems but the running costs are lower so over time, you will save money. You also own the equipment outright rather than paying a monthly fee for it.

Work from anywhere

With an on-premise PBX phone system, you can easily support remote employees. With the click of a button, you can forward calls to any phone number or device immediately.

On-demand customisation

Hosted PBX phone systems are easily customisable. Rerouting calls, setting up conference lines, voicemails, call recording, call backs can all be turned on or off with a quick and easy setting change – no need to sit on hold to a call centre!

More control

By owning your own network and server systems, you have more control over features and the ability to fully customise your phone system to suit your needs both current and future. Your own in-house IT professionals will be able to manage your system and implement your own security protocols.

Peace of mind

When you have a PBX system hosted onsite, you aren’t at the mercy of the telco companies with potential rate hikes and connectivity issues. You can rest easy knowing your system is taken care of by your own IT professionals.

Scalability

Is your business seasonal or growing steadily? Up or downsize your system quickly and easily and only pay for what you need.

FAQs

Got a question? We’re here to help.
  • Can I keep my existing phone number if I switch to On-Premise PBX?

Yes – you can keep your existing phone number(s).

  • What is the call quality like via VoIP?

You won’t notice a difference between your traditional landline calls and a VoIP call.  In most cases, the call quality is better via VoIP.

  • Do I need to buy new phones?

Depending on what type of phones you have, you may need new handsets but at FNQ Voip, we offer excellent value for money handsets that can be included with your monthly bill and are yours to keep.

  • Is On-Premise PBX better than Hosted PBX?

This is a tough question. It really depends on what you are trying to achieve in respect of features, cost and ,management.

As far as cost goes in the long term an on premise PBX a will work out more cost effective as you will own the hardware, however capital cost will be higher.  So it really requires an analysis of what is important to you.  Both solutions are reliable.
